New Opportunities - Do You Grab Them or Hide?

All the world is a very narrow bridge; Removing the Stumbling Block

"All the world is a very narrow bridge; the important thing is not to be afraid."
 ~ Rabbi Nachman of Bratslav

As we begin 2014 I am thrilled to share that I have started a new role as a featured contributor to Think Inclusive. Think Inclusive is an online resource that promotes the full and authentic inclusion of individuals with disabilities in their schools and communities through education and advocacy. I hope you will read my introductory piece, Introducing Lisa, and follow this fantastic resource.

Writing for Think Inclusive will not diminish my commitment to this blog in any way. In fact, I have spent time lately reflecting on what I think this blog has accomplished. In just a few weeks, Removing the Stumbling Block will be celebrating its one year blogiversary. (That's a word, right?)  A year ago, as I grappled with the decision to share my experiences, thoughts and expertise in the world of Jewish special education and disability inclusion in this format, I honestly had no idea what to expect. Being open to and accepting new opportunities takes a leap of faith. Sometimes we are ready and eager, other times we are hesitant and unsure. I was hopeful that people might read and find what I had to say helpful.  The connections I have made, the feedback I have received and the opportunities that have developed all indicate to me that I was right.

If you have been inspired, helped or encouraged by this blog in some way, I hope you might take a moment and share your thoughts below. Thank you.
